Dan is a partner in our Corporate/Commercial Group. His practice focuses on corporate finance and securities matters, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and commercial law matters.

Dan has represented clients ranging from senior and junior publicly traded companies to start up ventures. His experience includes initial public offerings, private placement transactions and stock exchange listings with a particular focus on companies listed or seeking listing on the TSX Venture Exchange. In addition, he regularly counsels companies in connection with contested and uncontested shareholder meetings, reverse takeovers, stock option plans, reorganizations, reactivations, corporate governance issues, continuous disclosure obligations and investigations by securities regulatory authorities.

Dan also represents private companies and capital providers in connection with pre-IPO seed capital financing and restructurings, purchase and sale transactions, as well as acting for both borrowers and lenders in secured loan transactions of all types including establishment of bank credit facilities, project specific loan transactions, and asset based loan transactions.

Industry Sector experience includes:
Financial services, oil & gas, mining, forestry, real estate development, manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, e-business, telecommunications, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, computer hardware and software and other high technology activities.

Education:
Dan attained his law degree in 1993 from the University of British Columbia Law School. In 1989, Dan attained a B.Comm (Hons.) degree from the University of Manitoba, majoring in Finance. In 1987, Dan also completed courses in international finance and econometrics at Harvard University.
