Tracy is a Partner in the Employment and Labour Law Group. Her practice focuses on assisting employers with such issues as hiring, discipline, promotions, termination, human rights, employee loyalty, workplace investigations regarding harassment and bullying, unions, and workplace safety. She represents clients at mediations, hearings, and trials.
Tracy takes a proactive approach to the law and works to find solutions to her clients' concerns. This hands-on approach enables clients to navigate employment issues without losing sight of their business.
Tracy has worked extensively on cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions. For many clients, these transactions are their first experience operating a business and having employees in Canada. Tracy understands the legal and business dynamics. She proactively guides her clients through the differing federal and provincial employment laws to ensure the client’s success from day one. Tracy provides ongoing support on employment matters to these clients long after the original transaction.
Tracy becomes integrated in her client’s business by looking at the long term plan, understanding the organization’s culture, and how that impacts the client’s employee issues. Tracy understands the background of her client’s requests and can assist with creative solutions that the client may have not considered. She also regularly conducts in-house training seminars on proactive employment issues, so her clients are aware of and stay ahead of statutory requirements.
