Joan is a senior partner with our Taxation Group and has extensive experience in domestic and international tax planning.  Joan assists clients with tax effective structuring and implementation of corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and inbound and outbound investments. She has worked with entrepreneurs and their advisors to establish tax planned strategies for startup, expanding and mature business operations.  This has involved Canadian and international corporate, partnership and trust structuring.  Joan’s practice also includes estate planning with a focus on family business succession planning.

Joan is a frequent lecturer for professional and commercial organizations. She has made presentations at conferences of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Ontario Bar Association, Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and many others.  As well, Joan is a member of the Meritas Canada Tax Group.
